At 3-12, the Bucs haven't excelled at many things this season.

One area in which they have made their presence felt is the return game. Micheal Spurlock, recently re-signed by Tampa, on Wednesday became the third Bucs player this season to nab NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

Sammie Stroughter and Clifton Smith had won the award earlier this season, but with both of them injured, the Bucs turned to Spurlock, who had a big kickoff return touchdown for the team in 2007. He repeated that feat Sunday, running back a kick 77 yards for a score to tie Tampa's game against New Orleans late in the fourth quarter. The Bucs eventually won in overtime.

The Bucs have as many NFC Special Teams Player of the Week awards as wins this season. Micheal Spurlock increased both totals Sunday, providing a key kickoff return touchdown to help lift Tampa over New Orleans.
