Here is what two mock drafts have pegged for the Chargers in the first round:
The Blue Bird Herd
Cameron Jordan – DE – California: The Chargers need a dynamic presence at both end positions, as Castillo has been slightly better than average of late, and Cesaire, though improving, doesn’t wreak any real havoc or strike fear into opposition from the other side. Jordan was the most dominant defensive lineman at the Senior Bowl, and his versatility to play on either side makes him a perfect fit in the San Diego defense. He has better than average burst for a 5-tech end, a long frame, active hands, and surprising speed coming off the edge for a player of his size (6'4, 285). He should challenge for a starting position immediately.

Akeem Ayers - LB - UCLA: The Chargers can use help at LB or DE, but the DEs should be lacking at this point. Ayers is a local selection going to UCLA, and he can play right away and be a solid player on a great team. Ayers can go inside or outside and can close in on the quarterback. Da'Quan Bowers could also go here, but again, that injury-worry is ever present. Ayers is a simple, minimal-risk selection for a team that doesn’t really need to do much in this draft to get better. The Chargers are an elite team and are very dangerous heading into 2011
