Wild Card Predictions: Cowboys-Eagles

Everyone has quickly jumped on the Cowboys’ bandwagon. One month ago, everyone was talking about a potential Dallas collapse and how the team couldn’t find a way to win in December. After an impressive victory in New Orleans and consecutive shutouts on the road against the Redskins and at home against the Eagles, Dallas has been chalked up by many as a favorite in the NFC. The Cowboys swept the Eagles this season, and winning a third game might prove to be difficult. But Philadelphia’s offensive line will be unable to handle Dallas’ relentless pressure, and the Cowboys’ line will overpower the Eagles’ defense. Line play can be the difference between a win and loss, and it will be the difference on Saturday night.

Miles Austin is on the cover of SI! Sick!

When Ryan Howard was on the cover the week before the Series, I knew the Phils were dunzo. The SI-Cover Jinx and the Madden Curse are real. Fact.

I can’t stand Miles Austin, that self-righteous A-Rod looking JO. Let’s be straight- 81 catches for 1312 yards and 11 TD is very impressive. That said… F that guy. They need to clamp down on him like they did for the first three quarters of the first game.

The Eagles can’t play as poorly as they did last week. I honestly believe, as written the other day, “After Souper5 fumbled the snap down 14-0, Reid circled the wagons. Vick was healthy and didn't play a down. There were NO exotic blitz packages at all. Basically, Andy realized it was a near certainty that we would be playing the same team a week later and didn't want to show his hand.”

I think that the Cowboys are going to fold. I think that Red Beaulieu is going to coach another awful game in the playoffs. They’re poised for a giant letdown in Jerry Jones’ lame, overwrought, over-thought pleasure palace.

It would be great to see Jerry Jones take one on his surgically reinforced chin. Jones’ ego is as bloated as Luke Wilson’s face in those AT&T ads.

Where does AT&T get off anyway, lying like that? Their service sucks. I suffer so many dropped calls talking to people with IPhones. Boooooo!!!! Lies!!!!!

And how weird is it that Luke Wilson is a pitchman for AT&T anyway? That’s how you knew Catherine Zeta-Jones’ career was finished. When she started doing those T-Mobile ads. Likable as he is, he’s a decidedly one-note actor.

It’s funny how pitching a product can say so much about a person in the public eye. Those Chunky ads with Don and his mom defined 5 as a lame mama’s boy. All he’s done as a pro quarterback is go 7-0 in the first round of the playoffs.

Bad linebackers, ineffective pass rush and a hole at free safety aside, I look for the Birds to pressure Romo all day. It’s going to come down to solid play from the unsung guys on this D- Joselio Hanson, Mike Patterson (he’s my favorite Eagle! Go 98!), Jason Babin, Will Witherspoon. Obviously, Jason Witten will have a big day, because the Birds can’t stop tight ends. He can have his though. If we can stop Austin, it’s fine.

I like the offense to score some serious points after what we saw last week. We need to see more of Shady and less of Westie.

At the end of the day, despite last week’s Debacle in Dallas, there’s no way I could ever pick the Cowgirls. Shaun Suisham misses a game tying kick as the final seconds tick off the clock on that dumbass Jumbotron. Let’s call it 8-0, Don.

Eagles 31, Cowboys 28

Dallas Cowboys Vs. Philadelphia Eagles- I’ve been impressed by the Cowboys and Tony Romo in particular in the past few weeks. They really seem to have turned the corner when they knocked the Saints from the ranks of the unbeaten. There are two people however, who they need to be wary of. Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid. Simply put, these two win in the playoffs. Even though I think Romo will play well, it won’t be enough. Eagles 28-17
