Day Two of Super Bowl madness and I’m fully immersed in the excitement, but a bit tired after Tuesday night’s Media Party. Seems my counterparts feel the same, especially those who participated in the cookie-eating contest. Live band on South Beach with a photo booth and fireworks = good times!

I spent Wednesday camped out inside the freezing cold Media Headquarters while my friends soaked up the sun on South Beach. No rain today, which means we may have to call Fat Joe and Lil’ Wayne to cancel plans for that Colts music video.

More Hardware for the Saints
Drew Brees won the FedEx Air Player of the Year Award, but was unable to attend the ceremony (for obvious reasons). His wife Brittany accepted the hardware on his behalf.

Other nominees included Peyton Manning and Brett Favre, but Brees got the nod thanks to a record-setting 70.62 completion percentage.

Becoming just the sixth player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a single season, Titans

running back Chris Johnson was awarded the FedEx Ground Player of the Year Award. Johnson was in house at the Super Bowl Media Center to receive the award this afternoon.

Radio Row Ruckus
Also spotted around the Media Center and Radio Row today – Mark Sanchez, Larry Fitzgerald, Tiki Barber, Joe Montana, Derrick Brooks and Barry Sanders.

Sanders was a busy man, bouncing from one radio show to the next, but was kind enough to stop on by, offering insight into this weekend’s game. It should not have been a surprise that the NFL's third all-time leading rusher emphasized the importance of a ground attack

“You know that the Saints’ defense is keenly aware of the Colts’ passing attack and vice versa, so it may very well come down to the running game,” Sanders said. “No final predictions. But I think it’s going to be a close one.”

Fishing Tournament Honors Fallen Teammates and Friends
Nick Schuyler, the lone survivor in a boating accident that claimed the lives of Marquis Cooper, Corey Smith and University of South Florida star Will Bleakley, held the first ever Nick Schuyler Celebrity Fishing Tournament on Wednesday morning.

Schuyler created the event to honor his friends who were all avid fishermen. The event was organized by the South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee with proceeds benefitting charities chosen by the families of the missing boaters.

Celebrity Sightings and Other Randoms
Kim Kardashian, Reggie Bush’s girlfriend, has arrived. Terrell Owens threw a pool party at the Fontainebleau on South Beach on Wednesday night.

It’s an interesting setup this year with the media and the Colts staying in Fort Lauderdale, while the Saints and most of celeb-action is happening further south in Miami.

Among the chief complaints (aside from weather) has been traffic. Took me an hour to drive 10 miles, all to get a Wendy’s $2 cup of chili?! Thankfully I had the musical accompaniment of my specially downloaded “Miami Mix” CD (created it just for this occasion) chock full of Uncle Luke and 2 Live Crew.
