If you’re a superstitious Packers fan, you won't like the Pack’s history in Philly. Green Bay hasn't won in Philadelphia since 1962, when Vince Lombardi was coach. The nine losses since have featured many miscues and bad memories (4th and 26, anyone?). Putting those nightmares aside, this game features a lot of great match-ups.

Eagles’ defense vs. Jermichael Finley
Tight ends were the bogeymen of the Eagles’ defense a year ago. The Eagles knew they had a problem and tinkered with the defense this offseason in hopes of strengthening its weakness. By Sunday night, the Eagles should know if those changes helped. Last season, Packers tight end Jermichael Finley developed into a threat and became quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ go-to guy. If the Eagles can stop this duo, they should be fine against most tight ends in the NFL.

Kevin Kolb vs. Dom Capers
Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers will throw his complex playbook at new Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb. The Packers' ball-hawking defense will get opportunities to take the ball away if Kolb can’t dissect the multiple looks. While the Packers haven’t put much pressure on quarterbacks this preseason, they are getting their best pass rusher, linebacker Clay Matthews, back for this game.

Eagles receivers vs. Sam Shields
Sam Shields was the biggest surprise of Packers training camp. He led Green Bay's preseason with two interceptions and five passes defensed. Thanks to that performance, and a shoulder injury to Brandon Underwood, Shields is now the nickel cornerback. The Eagles' stable of quality receivers - DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant - will be a challenge for the rookie. He needs to make a big play early and let the Eagles know they can’t target him all game. The Eagles will also test cornerback Tramon Williams and rookie safety Morgan Burnett, but Shields is the biggest unknown in the secondary.

Special teams
The Packers’ special teams is entering its second season of transition under special teams coordinator Shawn Slocum. The Packers searched for a returner in preseason, but ultimately had to settle for wide receiver Jordy Nelson and Tramon Williams. Neither are a huge threat.

These Eagles, with a new quarterback and a lot of offensive talent, are reminiscent of the Packers of two seasons ago. Those Packers were adept scorers but struggled to maintain leads or win close games. I wouldn’t be surprised if this game went that way for the Eagles.
