What a comeback this season for former Bears wide receiver Justin Gage.
Out for five weeks with broken bones in his low back, it was doubtful the Tennessee receiver would return this season. But after getting some work in Week 14, Gage came off the bench Sunday and caught two big touchdown passes in a 27-24 win over the Miami Dolphins.
Justin Gage caught two touchdown passes to help the Titans edge the Dolphins.
Gage’s comeback mirrors that of his team’s. The Titans started the season 0-6, including a 59-0 loss to New England. But they’ve won seven of their past eight, and are 7-7 and in the hunt for a wildcard berth.
Nothing short of miraculous … for both the player and the team.
Gage caught touchdown passes of 22 and 21 yards in the first-half as the Titans built a 17-6 halftime lead and held on in the second half. He was targeted only three times in the game.

Here’s how some of Gage’s fellow ex-Bears fared:
Chris Harris, safety, Carolina: Do the Bears miss this guy in the secondary. Harris had a fumble recovery and defended a pass as Carolina shut down Brett Favre in a 26-7 victory.
Muhsin Muhammad, wide receiver, Carolina: Caught two passes for 29 yards as the night belonged to teammate Steve Smith (nine catches for 157 yards, including a 42-yard touchdown catch).
Bernard Berrian, wide receiver, Minnesota: Caught three passes for 25 yards in the loss to Carolina.
Kyle Orton, quarterback, Denver: He threw for 278 yards and a touchdown, but he continues to be limited in Josh McDaniels’ offense. The result: A 20-19 loss at home to Oakland. Matt Prater field goals won’t get it done in a playoff push.
Thomas Jones, running back, New York Jets Nineteen carries for 52 yards in a 10-7 loss to Atlanta.
Cedric Benson, running back, Cincinnati: San Diego’s rush defense is tough, particularly at home. Benson rushed 15 times for 53 yards and caught two passes for 19 yards in a 27-24 loss to the Chargers.
Mark Bradley, wide receiver, Kansas City: Three catches for 52 yards and a touchdown in a 41-34 loss to Cleveland. Former Bear receiver Bobby Wade was inactive for Kansas City with Dwayne Bowe back from suspension.
Mike Brown, safety, Kansas City: Four tackles (three solo) in the loss to the Browns.
Tank Johnson, defensive tackle, Cincinnati: Four tackles (three solo) in the loss at San Diego.
Marty Booker, wide receiver, Atlanta: One catch for eight yards in Atlanta’s 10-7 win over the Jets. He was targeted twice.
Mark Colombo, offensive tackle, Dallas: Inactive with a leg injury for the Cowboys’ upset of previously undefeated New Orleans.
Rex Grossman, quarterback, Houston: Watched Matt Schaub throw for 367 yards and a touchdown in a 16-13 victory over the Rams.
