Grub: Your typical pub grub, but my friends and I are big fans of the Death Valley jumbo chicken wings. I would put them in my top five list of best I’ve tasted. The Greek fries, smothered with feta cheese and vinaigrette dressing, make a nice complement to the wings. I ordered both and absolutely crushed them on a recent Sunday afternoon. The jumbo wings, pizzas and Angus burgers are among the best-sellers at Joe's, according to the wait staff. Order some waters with those pints and pitchers of beer. You’ll need both.

The 10 jumbo hot wings, greek fries and a pint of Fat Tire are a great way to complement a Bears game. Pizzas and Angus burgers also have been big hits at the North Side Chicago bar.

Booze:Joe’s offers a several of drink specials, including $10 pitchers of domestic beer, $6 Bloody Marys, and $3 Bud Lights in special Bears' orange and blue cans. I went with a couple of pints of Fat Tire to complement the wings and fries, and they worked well together.

Fat Tire is one of the many beers available on tap at Joe's to help you wash down those wings.

Atmosphere: On Saturdays this North Side bar is devoted mainly to the University of Illinois, as well as a few other colleges. But on Sunday’s it’s pretty much all Bears, all the time. At 20,000 square feet, with 110 televisions – including several large projection screens and a 20-foot projection screen on the patio – there’s not a bad seat in the house. I watched the early games there from the back bar and had a great view of several games. It’s a big place, and it gets crowded and loud on game days. But the atmosphere can’t be beat for Bears games or fantasy football owners tracking several results of several of their players. Warning: I would take the El train Red Line to the North/Clybourn stop and walk two blocks to the bar. Parking is tight in the neighborhood and $12 valet service for a sports bar is too high.

Joe's has several large projection screens and long community-style tables, allowing Bears fans to easily see the game from any seat in the house.
