Contributing to your information overload, here are this week’s Panthers news, John Fox’s comments and Bleacher Views.

News: The offense has averaged just 12.3 points over the past four games.

Fox’s Comment: “It’s been a combination. We’re without some key guys. Our struggles in the passing game continue. Contrary to popular belief, I’d like to be able to throw the ball better. The reality is we haven’t.”

Bleacher View: To fix their lack of future skill, the Panthers are going to have to find a way to sign Julius Peppers to a cap-friendly contract and trade the franchise player for a high No. 1 draft pick. Good luck.

News: The defense has collected six interceptions the past two weeks and also recovered two fumbles Sunday, vastly improving its ball-hawking abilities.

Fox’s Comment: “It’s guys being in the right position. Sometimes there is an element of luck involved. It’s guys being around the ball.”

Bleacher View: An understated problem. Even with the improved field position turnovers often provide, the Panthers lack a quick-strike arsenal.

News: The Panthers hurt several drives Sunday with a season-high 92 penalty yards. The most inexcusable were the illegal shift penalties.

Fox’s Comment: “We didn’t line up right a couple of times, who was on (and) who was off, being set as (identified) certain formations. It was just a lack of execution overall.”

Bleacher View: Lining up correctly -- is this not a training camp fundamental?

News: Quarterback Matt Moore has been unimpressive in his two starts in relief of the injured Jake Delhomme, resulting in a win and loss.

Fox’s Comment: “(The outings) kind of been the same. There’s some game mechanics and execution that we need to continue to improve.”

Bleacher View: See above about a No. 1 selection and the need to draft the future.

News: Delhomme is improving, but still is not 100 percent.

Fox’s Comment: “As our medical staff tells me and I tell you, it’s day-to-day.”

Bleacher View: Tomorrows always are grander than today.
