The Buffalo Bills signed DT Marlon Favorite today to an NFL contract.

Favorite, a 317-pound defensive lineman, has bounced around the league as a practice squad player out of a decorated collegiate program in LSU. Favorite went undrafted in the 2009 NFL Draft, where he was then picked up by the Carolina Panthers. He most recently was a practice squad signee with the world champion New Orleans Saints this past January.

In an interview with James Varney of The Times-Picayune in New Orleans, Favorite was overwhelmed by coming back to Louisiana. "I'm overwhelmed," he said in the locker room. "I got the call yesterday and, well, God is good. I'm just looking forward now to contributing the best way I can. Any way I can contribute to the team I want to do it. I'm honored to be here - it's my hometown, don't have to take no flak, just hop in my car and drive across the river and I'm here," he said.

Well, that was short-lived.

A few months later, Favorite becomes a Buffalo Bill. Favorite will be in the mix for the Bills' nose tackle job in their newly adapted 3-4 defensive alignment in 2010.

Free Agency officially begins on March 5 at midnight. Make sure to check back with the Bills Blog Blitz for all the latest Bills news. If you haven't added us to your Twitter account, do so @BillsBlogBlitz.
