Bills Fall to Lions, A Look At The Possible Roster

The Bills ended their 2010 preseason with a 28-23 loss to the Detroit Lions on Thursday night.

Drayton Florence intercepted Matthew Stafford on the third play of the game and ran it back for a touchdown. Florence's score marked the third straight game the Bills scored on defense. That swagger-filled secondary is making some noise.

Believe it or not, even Trent Edwards is gaining confidence. In his two series on Thursday, he was 4-for-4 for 63 yards and led a 13-play drive that ended with a Rian Lindell field goal.

What was most encouraging about Edwards' performance was the fact that the running game was non-existent (Marshawn Lynch had five carries for two yards) and C.J. Spiller was not in the lineup to help his check-down game.

Edwards connected with Lee Evans on a precise 50-yard toss down the sideline, a play that was made by the receiver pulling in the football in tight coverage.

Brian Brohm backed up Edwards, and was his usual average self. He didn't make many mistakes but didn't do anything to stick out. I still like Ryan Fitzpatrick as the Bills' backup.

The starting offensive line's play was mediocre - they allowed only one sack but didn't open many holes for the runners.

As far as the depth guys across the line, they've got problems. Detroit's back-up defensive line spent the whole second half in the backfield.

The Bills will host the rival Miami Dolphins on September 12th, a date that the real fans probably don't need to reminded about.

On Saturday, the Bills will cut down to the league-allowed 53 players. Here's my projected final roster...
