Keep An Eye On Freeney-Oher Matchup

This Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts has several underlying story lines that will be very interesting to follow.

Two of the more obvious ones are the Colts returning to Baltimore, as well as Matt Stover returning to compete against his old team. Although both of these are interesting, the Colts return is getting old, and Stover may only be on the field for a handful of plays (although some of those plays may end up being crucial).

It will be strange to see "Money Matt" in a Colts uniform at M&T Bank Stadium. However, who knows, maybe he'll be back in a Ravens uniform in December, which is when the Colts expect to have Adam Vinatieri back from his knee injury.

A more interesting story line to me is the match-up between Dwight Freeney and Michael Oher.

Yes, it's true that Freeney will spend most of his day lining up in front of the Ravens left tackle, Jared Gaither, but don't be surprised to see Freeney move to the other side of the line and take a shot at Michael Oher at some point during the game. If he does, the shift will most likely not be only scheme driven.

There have been words exchanged between the two men, way before Oher was even taken in the first round of last year's NFL draft. For those of you that have not read "The Blind Side" written by Michael Lewis (opening in theaters this Friday), towards the end of the book, Michael Oher, while he was still the starting left tackle at Ole Miss, is quoted as saying, "I could take Dwight Freeney right now." Freeney's response to Oher's comment, "You tell Michael Oher I'll be waiting for him."

Now, these men didn't know each other at the time of the book, and may not have crossed paths since, but I'm sure neither have forgotten. It should be fun to watch. --- RALPH TOTOONCHIE.
