The drive to post back-to-back winning campaigns for the first time in franchise history continued for the Atlanta Falcons, who destroyed the hapless Buffalo Bills by a 31-3 margin on Sunday afternoon in the home finale at the Dome.

Not surprisingly, the press coverage of the Dirty Birds was generally positive on Monday.

The AJC’s beat writer D. Orlando Ledbetter leads off our coverage with news that the Falcons will likely be in the kicker market with kicker Matt Bryant and punter Michael Koenen battling the injury bug going into the club’s finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also updates the Atlanta injuries, recaps Atlanta’s impressive win and writes about how the club’s rookies are getting more playing time down the stretch.

Matt Bradley of the AJC asks Falcons fans about whether the franchise would be happy if Matt Ryan turned into the second coming of Eli Manning rather than big brother Peyton.

The AJC’s Bird Cage blog breaks down the win, talks about the big day for the 2009 draft class and looks ahead to the finale.

Falcons Examiner Daniel Cox writes about the win, talks about the Falcons extending President Rich McKay’s contract and focuses on Kory Biermann’s Sunday afternoon, which included kickoff duties.

The Falcoholic calls the win over the lowly Bills the “most entertaining game of 2009” and doles out his game MVP award to wide receiver Roddy White.

ESPN.com’s Pat Yasinskas wraps up the game and gives us his thoughts on which Falcons should make the Pro Bowl.

Finally, atlantafalcons.com’s J. Mike asks whether strong finishes are a new trademark of the Dirty Birds, while John Manasso writes that the Falcons are one win away from history.
