It's been a disappointing year in many ways for the Falcons, who could not make the playoffs for a second straight season despite high expectations and a good start.

The team was dealt another disappointment Tuesday, when rosters were announced for this year's Pro Bowl and no Atlanta players were on the NFC squad. As the J. Mike's Missives blog on the Falcons' official site pointed out, if no Falcons get into the game as alternates, it would be the sixth time the franchise would go unrepresented in the game.

J. Mike also goes over some of the players who could have and perhaps should have made it, including Tony Gonzalez, Roddy White and Curtis Lofton.

Second-year linebacker Curtis Lofton has racked up 154 tackles this season but couldn't make the NFC Pro Bowl team.
