Falcons vs. Bills: The Pick Is ...

For weeks, if not longer, the Falcons have been the underachieving injured team that came limping into game after game. Well after a solid effort and upset victory last week at the Meadowlands against the Jets in which Matt Ryan returned, the shoe is on the other foot this week at the Georgia Dome as the Birds are the healthier favorite.

The Buffalo Bills have turned into an absolute disaster and are finishing out the string to end a dismal season. QBs Ryan Fitzpatrick and Trent Edwards sustained injuries in the Week 15 loss to the Patriots, and it is possible that Brian Brohm will be forced into making his NFL debut. Now to make matters even worse, phenomenal rookie safety Jairus Byrd and his NFL-leading nine interceptions is done for the season because of groin issues. That came 24 hours after the Bills lost corner Terrence McGee for the season as well.

Michael Turner probably will not play for the Falcons as that high ankle sprain is not really improving, but Mike Smith's team is starting to return to its expected form and in the end Atlanta will get over that .500 mark to 8-7 with an easy home win.
Prediction: Falcons 27, Bills 10

The Atlanta Falcons should end their home campaign with a victory. When healthy, the Buffalo Bills are a mediocre football team at best. However, without Trent Edwards and possibly Ryan Fitzpatrick calling the signals, the Bills will be a lost team on offense.

Atlanta got Matt Ryan back last week and the quarterback got the job done down the stretch. Expect much of the same from the Falcons, who seem to be on the mend.

The Dirty Birds keep the vengeful Falcon away for yet another week as the dream of back-to-back winning seasons remains alive, for now.
Prediction: Falcons 27, Bills 14

Maybe this consecutive winning seasons mantra that Coach Mike Smith is preaching really is having an effect on the Falcons. They've played better the past couple weeks in spite of a pile of injuries. For that matter, so have the Bills, whose secondary and signal-callers are decimated. Still, the Falcons have more talent, assuming most of it can get on the field.
Prediction: Falcons 24, Bills 17

Consensus: Birds keep Bills caged up in a dome
