Why I Hate the Titans

I hate the Tennesse Titans because the year they drafted Vince Young, we drafted Matt Leinart. They got a sports car for an athlete, while we got an over-hyped former Heisman Trophy winner with a weak arm and no scrambling ability. If I wanted a QB with a noodle arm and no athleticism, I would rather have signed Chad Pennington to a $51-million contract. At least he is accurate.
While Young has had his share of rough patches, he is back on top in Tennessee and has the Titans on a 4-game winning streak after Kerry Collins led them to an 0-6 record. Heck, now that the Titans defense has returned they might just make the playoffs under Young's command. Vince's confidence and control of the offense are at an all-time high.
Conversely, Leinart is back pedaling. When he comes into the game the Cardinals had better have a big lead already, because in three appearances this season Leinart has yet to lead the team on a scoring drive. He has miscommunicated with his receivers on routes, been off target, taken sacks and thrown an interception in limited play. He had some decent games in his rookie season, but has shown very little since. The coaching staff has defended him, but to me it appears his confidence in himself and that which he receives from his teammates is low. Prove me wrong Matt, I'd love for you to do that. At this point in time though, Vince Young would be a wonderful handcuff to Kurt Warner, whereas Leinart is failing.
Another reason to despise the Titans—they drafted Chris Johnson in 2008. Granted, I am not unhappy that we got Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie with the 16th overall selection, but we were very interested in Johnson, and had he slid down into the second round he very well could have been a Cardinal. Just imagine what the influence of Johnson would have done for the Cardinals of 2008. A team with a struggling running game that made it all the way to the Super Bowl for the first time could have found plenty of uses for Johnson. With him in the mix we might not have taken the lead with Larry Fitzgerald's touchdown reception. We may have been adding to our lead instead.
Chris Johnson's incredible rookie season was no fluke—with 6 games left to play this season he is only 758 yards away from 2,000 yards. Only 5 running backs in the history of the game have run for over 2k. Just imagine what this superstar would look like in Cardinal red.
